Coaching to Perform
Cian’s reputation as a coach is recognised internationally. The skills he imparts - and the positive approach he adopts - has seen him assist many riders to fulfil their aspiration into National, Continental or potential World Champions.
The focus is on getting the best from you and your horse and committing yourself to a training programme that will help you progress with your ambitions.
With a coaching style that is framed from the classically based international system of training, allied to modern coaching techniques, it’s no surprise that Cian has already established a tremendous reputation for his coaching clinics in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and China.
Working with students across the world, Cian has helped build on their strengths and develop their equestrian skills with many riders going on to achieve international honours and medals from Ponies Juniors to Young Riders and on to Nations Cup levels, with Max and Tom Wachman rising to prominence in recent years. Max was also a part of Ireland’s Aga Khan winning team in 2022.
Canada’s Nikki Walker has a long and fruitful partnership with Karlswood and as well as multiple podium and Grand Prix successes over the years, she also helped steer her country to a 5* Nations Cup win, was Canada’s U25 National Champion in 2017 and National Champion a year later.
Crucial to Cian’s approach is how he examines the always critical relationship between horse and rider, encouraging an all-encompassing understanding of the horse’s ability and potential.
Whether coaching groups or individuals, Cian will discuss your personal goals and ambitions with you.
Our experienced coaching team, featuring Gerry Mullins, Ross Mulholland, Michael Kelly, Cameron Hanley and Bastian Freese, are committed to driving the highest standards in coaching and have proven track-records in developing successful programmes for our riders.
At Karlswood, we are committed to delivering quality – a place where our goal is the fulfilment of your ambition.
